What Is A Quality of Life Assessment?

A Quality of Life Assessment helps you understand your pet’s comfort, happiness, and overall well-being. Using both medical expertise and emotional sensitivity, Dr. Futterman will work with you to evaluate your pet’s physical condition and daily experience — helping you make informed, compassionate decisions about their care.

What We Evaluate?

During your assessment, we’ll discuss your pet’s:

  • Pain and mobility

  • Appetite and hydration

  • Breathing and comfort

  • Hygiene and toileting

  • Joy and engagement

  • Good days vs. bad days

Our Approach

Our goal is not to rush your decision — but to empower you with understanding. We provide:

  • Honest, compassionate guidance from a highly experienced veterinarian

  • Supportive discussion about treatment, palliative care, and comfort measures

  • When appropriate, gentle guidance on when euthanasia may be the kindest choice

We know every pet and family is unique, and we’ll meet you where you are emotionally and practically.
